“How cool is it that the same God who created Mountains & Oceans,& Galaxies, looked at you & thought the world needed One of You TOO!”
I don’t know whose quote that is, but it certainly made me stop and smile. It also made me think about that concept for a while. Imagine a world where we all believed that God thought that the world needed each one of us. Imagine if we all believed that. Imagine that this same concept applies to every single molecule of creation as we know it.
Scripture says “God so loved the world that the Son was sent to us…” I know that I have said this before, but God loves the world, not just humans. While we are busy standing up for what we believe is right and just, have we forgotten that this world is falling apart? Did you know that a huge ice shelf, the size of Rhode Island, in Antarctica is cracked and ready to break off? Did you know that Greenland has had its hottest year ever? Did you know that Hawaii can’t keep up with all of the garbage, especially Styrofoam that is washing up on its beaches and is killing wildlife daily? Did you know that the smog in this country is killing our natural resources? Did you know that the destruction of the rain forests in Central and South American is killing wildlife, taking more habitat daily? Did you know that humans can change this?
God thought the world needed us, and somehow I don’t believe that He/She needed us just to get along and love. The world needed us to take care of it the same way we need to take care of one another. What an awesome responsibility! So, while you are doing your part to stand up to a National Administration that is leaving most of the country to fend for themselves and take care of the upper crust, remember that there is an “upper crust” that you need to take care of as well. We get to take care of making life possible for all of those who come after us, human and the rest of creation. HOW COOL IS THAT! -Chris L.
