Shel Silverstein, in his wonderful book of poetry (for kids and adults) called "Falling Up" writes,  "I tripped on my shoelace And I fell up— Up to the roof tops, Up over the town, Up past the tree tops, Up over the mountains, Up where the colors blend into the sounds. But it got me so dizzy- When I looked around, I got sick to my stomach And I threw down." This beautifully captures what ascension really is for us. And it isn't all up. For us really, it is more up, down, and sideways. (In fact if we go up to fast and far we will find ourselves "throwing down." aka: spiritual bypassing). Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Jesus' ascension, and our calling to ascend with him (up, down, and sideways) in the latter part of Luke 24. I look forward to being with you on Zoom!
