Sunday Service

This Sunday we continue our Advent reflections about "waiting, watching, and working" for hope, by talking about the hope that is born and reborn around tables.  This idea was born in me as the visioning team sat around Laurie's dining room table at our meeting Thursday morning. I think we take the importance of tables in our lives for granted. We gather around tables at church for fellowship, for meetings, for dialogue, and for Holy Communion. And we gather around (and have a lot of memories of) tables during the Holiday Season. In our Luke 1 Scripture today- Elizabeth and Mary meet at Elizabeth and Zachariah's table to share some incredible news. In these days when we as Anne Lamott writes, are called to be "stubborn" about cultivating hope even when the news is strange (and sometimes joy-filled and terrifying). I believe it is around the many tables in our lives that hope can begin, and get a do-over, and grow- even when it feels very dark around us. Join us Sunday, as we continue our Advent reflections on watching for hope no matter what table and what company we find ourselves with.  I look forward to being with you (around the table). -Rev. Jeanne
