This Coming Sunday

This Sunday, our own Steve Holly will be in the pulpit. He will be doing a meditation on getting closer to the Divine that dwells within each of us. He says:

If we are God’s creations, this life is a gift of love from the Creator.  Each breath taken is a renewal of that Divine love deserving of thanks for the blessing it is.  Let this gift, the breath, lead us into our bodies to set aside the thoughts of our minds and get closer to the internal Divine spark that animates our lives, the source of calm, peace, and joy, on which we can call at any time. 

Steve will be using a text from Luke reminding us that  “the kingdom of God is within you” and a poem by Rumi. 

As you know Steve leads a monthly Healing Circle group and is a Reiki practitioner. He has been very involved with our summer renewal services, organizing and playing much of the music as well as serving as liturgist. This Sunday, he will be inviting us to reflect on the Holy within and to let go of our thoughts that we are not capable or talented enough. (Note that the Joseph poem reflects this theme as well—yet another visible example of the Spirit moving with us).
